so i was just reading mish's blog about internet and i would have to say i agree. expecially about the 'just for convenience' bit. Because its so true!!!
before you guys tell me to shut up and stop thinking so much, i must tell you that i find it enjoyable think about stuff like this. i enjoy the PROCESS of thinking everything super super thoroughly, linking thigs together, and coming to a depressing conclusion. whihc is stupid. but i think thats life itself. you have fun, and get bogged down by the idea of having done everything, or not having done everything and dying!!! i think its stupid.
SO yeah. theese days, everythings about technology. Now, technology doesnt necessarily make things funner and create funner things to do, as my friend Lucy said to me today( i paraphrased what she said). it just, speeds things up, and lets you do things people are too lazy to do. for example, a wii. some people in real life cant even HIT the ball, let alone run. the Wii lets you 'keep fit' without having to get outdoors, or run or hit that hard. i mean, when i first started playing wii, i was fully moving around the room, only to find that you didnt have to!!!( my cousin grabbed the numchuck or whatever its called and sat on the couch and moved his wrist and beat me. big time.) so you might win the game, and think, hey i won. but are you actually losing any weight? and its just easy!!! i feel as though society is forgetting the meaning of hard work sometimes. i know this because i am one of those people who have forgotten. HAD forgotten. and even if you remember, its really hard to oil those cogs and and get off your arse.
stuff like COD and grand theft auto, yeah theyre fun and shit, but honestly, who the hell would be gutsy enough to go out there and run over old ladies for fun? okay thats a bad example. how about... like, those virtual street fighter things. i guess some people will never get the chance to fight like that these days, so this is like, a shortcut to being that strong and cool...except you get called like a geek or some shit for playing that haha. whatever happened to books, to breathing, to seeing? i miss that. even when i go on holidays, we have to do things the short way, instead of the long way, where i can sit and absorb the world around me. AND FACEBOOK. i love to stalk ppl on that thing, but yeah, would you even talk to people that you add and shit on fb? it just becomes your life!!
people complain about how short their life is and how much they want and have to do, so scientists make things to make life easier but making technology to speed it up. but theoretically speaking, if one day, you completed everything you wanted in this world, and you had nothing else to do, nowhere else to go, what would happen? nothing left to strive and achieve. does that mean you are prepared to die? but noone wants to die. or do they. Just to let you know, i know my theory is far fetched, but look at technology, its booming. it can well happen.
my grandpas younger sister has travelled to everywhere in the worl except for Iraq. She is a very knowledgeable woman and although my gramps listens to no one, he listens to her, because shes seen the world. shes like, 70. she said, 'i have nothing left to do, waiting to die now'
funny statement eh?
dont hate me, im a depressing person. if you dont like it , too bad.
